ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 Central Florida will see rain chances increase Tuesday as a weak front moves in, bringing scattered showers, a few storms, and the potential for locally heavy rain along the coast into the night.<\/p>\n
TODAY<\/p>\n
The day starts quiet, but changes arrive quickly this afternoon as a weakening cold front approaches from the north.<\/p>\n
Showers and a few storms could begin developing as early as 12\u20131 PM along the coast, then gradually spread south through the afternoon. Rain chances hold at 40-60%.<\/p>\n
A few storms could become briefly strong, producing gusty winds, lightning, small hail, and heavy downpours.<\/p>\n
Temperatures will vary depending on cloud cover and rain, with highs in the 70s north and mid to upper 80s farther south.<\/p>\n
TONIGHT<\/p>\n
The front will stall across the southern part of Central Florida tonight, keeping clouds and rain chances in place.<\/p>\n
Some areas could see heavier pockets of rain, but confidence remains low on exactly where those totals set up.<\/p>\n
WEDNESDAY<\/p>\n
The stalled front will keep scattered showers and a few storms in the forecast, especially during the afternoon.<\/p>\n
Rainfall totals will generally stay light, but brief heavier downpours will still be possible.<\/p>\n
Between Tuesday and Wednesday, some coastal areas could pick up 1 to 2 inches of rain as showers train, while inland spots still see isolated downpours.<\/p>\n
LATE WEEK INTO THE WEEKEND<\/p>\n
Drier weather returns Friday, with temperatures warming back into the 80s.<\/p>\n
Another cold front will approach late Saturday into Sunday, bringing another chance for showers and possibly a storm, especially along the coast and southern areas.<\/p>\n
Behind that front, breezy and cooler conditions are expected, with highs dropping back into the 70s Sunday and Monday.<\/p>\n
