Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis<\/a> did not rule out the possibility of running for president a second time, addressing whether he will make a White House bid in 2028 during an appearance on “Hang Out with Sean Hannity.”<\/a><\/p>\n

“We\u2019ll see,” he said. “I think that in \u201924, like in Iowa, the people that voted for Trump, if he wasn\u2019t running, I would\u2019ve gotten like 90% of those people.”<\/p>\n

DeSantis argued that if President Donald Trump<\/a> had not run for president in 2024, he would have garnered the votes of Trump\u2019s MAGA base.<\/p>\n

“They were conservative voters<\/a>, right? They didn\u2019t want the non-conservative, they wanted me,” the governor asserted. “The timing didn\u2019t work out, obviously, for that.”<\/p>\n

“You just got to see what happens,” he added.<\/p>\n

DeSantis\u2019 term as governor ends in January 2027, leaving a one-year window to enter the 2028 presidential election \u2013 a race with high-profile expected headliners that could include Vice President JD Vance<\/a> and Secretary of State Marco Rubio<\/a>.<\/p>\n

DeSantis dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, despite garnering second-place support in the Iowa caucuses. The Florida governor ultimately finished third in the Republican primary, trailing behind Trump and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Beyond politics, DeSantis also discussed personal matters, detailing his wife\u2019s battle with breast cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Florida first lady Casey DeSantis<\/a> was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2021 and was declared cancer-free in 2022.<\/p>\n

“She wanted to get the scan\u2026 And so, I told her, I said, \u2018Alright listen, I think you\u2019re fine, I think you\u2019re worrying for nothing, but let\u2019s set up and get it done,\u2019” he said.<\/p>\n

DeSantis said he took the call on behalf of his wife after she said, “you gotta take this.”<\/p>\n

“The doctor was like, ‘Listen, she\u2019s not gonna die. We\u2019re gonna be able to treat this, but it is positive for breast cancer,\u2019” DeSantis explained.<\/p>\n
