{"id":205156,"date":"2026-03-25T08:23:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T08:23:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/205156\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T08:23:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T08:23:22","slug":"no-4-florida-men-compete-at-ncaa-championships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/205156\/","title":{"rendered":"No. 4 Florida Men Compete at NCAA Championships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>GAINESVILLE, Fla. \u2013 No. 4 Florida men send 12 swimmers and three divers to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I Men&#8217;s Swimming and Diving Championships, held Wednesday March 25 to Friday, March 28 at the McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga.<\/p>\n<p>Swimming trials will begin each day at 10 a.m. ET., followed by diving events on Thursday-Saturday, with finals at 6 p.m. each day. ESPN+ (Subscription required) will provide live digital coverage for preliminary and finals sessions Wednesday through Saturday. Tape-delayed coverage of the men&#8217;s championships will be on ESPNU at 7 p.m. Eastern time, Monday, March 30.<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>&#13;<br \/>\nThis year&#8217;s championships feature a revised format, with only the A Final (top eight) swimming at night. What would be the B Final (places 9-16) will be scored based on morning times. Florida&#8217;s qualifiers are tied for the fourth-most in the nation, matching Arizona State and trailing only Indiana (16) and both Cal and Texas (13).Brown, Buff, Jaouadi, Liendo, Linscheer, Norman and Painter will compete in three individual events.&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t\tBrown, Buff, Jaouadi, Liendo, Linscheer, Norman and Painter will each compete in three individual events.&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tThree Gator divers earned NCAA qualifying spots across eight events. Agundez Mora and Gonzalez qualified in all three diving events, while Gesing secured spots in both springboard events.&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Gators also qualified five relays, the 200 free, 400 free, 800 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley relays, with the 200 medley relay holding the fastest qualifying time heading into Atlanta.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLiendo enters his final NCAA Championships with five individual national titles and 11 total, including relays. He captured the 50 free title in 2024 and the 100 free in 2023 and 2025, while also winning back-to-back 100 fly titles in 2024 and 2025. The Canadian Olympian has also been a member of multiple national title-winning relays, including the 200 free (2023, 2024), 400 free (2023), 200 medley (2024) and 400 medley (2023, 2025).&#13;<br \/>\n\tFlorida boasts at least one swimmer seeded in the top-16 scoring positions in nine of the 13 individual swimming events. Liendo is seeded No. 1 in both the 100 fly and 50 free, while Marshall holds the top seed in the 200 back. The Gators have three swimmers seeded in the top-16 of the 1,650 free: Jaouadi (No. 2), Hafnaoui (No. 5) and Linscheer (No. 15). Jaouadi and Hafnaoui are also seeded No. 3 and No. 6 in the 500 free, respectively, while de Groot is No. 2 in the 100 breast.&#13;<br \/>\n\tFlorida&#8217;s 73 NCAA championships (including relays) rank eighth all-time and are the most in program history.&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t\tCaeleb Dressel holds the NCAA records in the 50 free (17.63) and 100 fly (42.80), both set in 2018. Bobby Finke owns the NCAA record in the 1,650 free (14:12.52), set in 2021.&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<br \/>\n\t&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Gators also hold NCAA records in the 200 medley relay (1:20.15) and 400 medley relay (2:56.10)&#13;<br \/>\n\tThe Gators have recorded back-to-back top-four finishes at the NCAA Championships (3rd in 2024, 4th in 2025) and have placed top-five or better five times since <a href=\"https:\/\/floridagators.com\/sports\/mens-swimming-and-diving\/roster\/coaches\/anthony-nesty\/2110\" rel=\"smarttag nofollow noopener\" rev=\"2110\" target=\"_blank\">Anthony Nesty<\/a> became head coach in 2018.&#13;<br \/>\n\tLast season, Florida placed fourth at the NCAA Championships and captured four national titles.
