MIAMI BEACH, Fla. \u2014 Venezuela\u2019s interim president, Delcy Rodr\u00edguez, made a pitch for foreign investment in Venezuela that painted a rosy picture: \u201cVenezuela today has an environment of security and stability.\u201d <\/p>\n
Rodr\u00edguez, 56, who took office after Nicol\u00e1s Maduro\u2019s capture on Jan. 3, was a speaker during Saudi Arabia\u2019s Future Investment Initiative Institute<\/a>\u2018s three-day summit on Wednesday morning in Miami Beach. <\/p>\n \u201cInvestors should know that there is security, that there are laws in Venezuela that allow for the safe return of their investments. We are in a process of stabilization,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said in Spanish, as she appeared remotely on a large screen.<\/p>\n Rodr\u00edguez\u2019s presentation was part of the FII Priority<\/a> \u201cCapital In Motion\u201d<\/a> program\u2019s \u201cThe New LATAM Order<\/a>\u201d segment at the Faena Forum<\/a>, at 3300 Collins Ave.<\/p>\n \u201cIn three of the last four years, Venezuela led South American growth,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said. \u201cOut of the sectors that grew the most, we have construction, oil, finance and insurance, as well as mining.\u201d<\/p>\n Rodr\u00edguez, a key member of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, said that she was grateful President Donald Trump was supportive of a bilateral diplomatic agenda. <\/p>\n \u201cAt this time, our diplomats are heading to Washington,\u201d Rodr\u00edguez said, later adding that she looked forward to a future for Venezuela to be \u201cfree of all kinds of sanctions.\u201d <\/p>\n When it was time for questions, and Rodr\u00edguez welcomed them, the video feed got disconnected.
