{"id":205842,"date":"2026-03-25T19:00:10","date_gmt":"2026-03-25T19:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/205842\/"},"modified":"2026-03-25T19:00:10","modified_gmt":"2026-03-25T19:00:10","slug":"florida-democrat-who-flipped-mar-a-lago-district-credits-win-to-blocking-out-the-noise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/205842\/","title":{"rendered":"Florida Democrat who flipped Mar-a-Lago district credits win to blocking out \u2018the noise\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fresh off her surprise victory in the Florida state House district that includes President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ms.now\/white-house\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Donald Trump<\/a>\u2019s Mar-a-Lago residence, Democrat <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ms.now\/news\/democrat-flips-florida-state-house-seat-in-district-that-includes-trumps-mar-a-lago\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Emily Gregory<\/a> joined MS NOW\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ms.now\/morning-joe\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cMorning Joe\u201d<\/a> on Wednesday to discuss the ways she was able to flip the Republican-held seat and what advice she has for members of her party ahead of the midterms.<\/p>\n<p>Gregory credited her victory over Trump-backed Jon Maples in Florida\u2019s 87th District to a simple strategy: \u201ctalking to people.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI feel very embedded in this community,\u201d she told MS NOW. \u201cIt\u2019s a big reason why I decided to run.
