Georgios Frangulis proposed to tennis star Aryna Sabalenka a few weeks before the 2026 Miami Open.<\/p>\n

Aryna Sabalenka entered the 2026 Miami Open as the No. 1-ranked women\u2019s tennis player in the world. After defeating Zheng Qinwen (No. 23) without dropping a set, she takes on unseeded American Hailey Baptiste, who\u2019s competing in her first WTA 1000 quarterfinals.<\/p>\n

The Belarusian star told reporters of the crowd at Hard Rock Stadium, \u201cI can definitely say that it felt like home. Thanks to you guys, you really make this stadium feel like home for me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sabalenka dropped hints for months that she was ready for Frangulis to propose. Message received, because he got down on one knee just a few weeks before the Miami Open.<\/p>\n

Sabalenka posted<\/a> a video of the special moment on Instagram and wrote, \u201cYou & me, forever \u267e\ufe0f 3.3.26 \ud83d\udc8d\ud83e\udd0d.\u201d The comments section filled with messages of congratulations from fellow tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Caroline Wozniacki, and more.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Tara Keeney<\/a> in Miami, Frangulis spoke about proposing to the 27-year-old tennis star. \u201cI feel super accomplished\u2026 Engaged to the love of my life,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

When asked about the last time he cried, \u201cIt\u2019s going to be super cute. I cried when I proposed two weeks ago. It was a super fast cry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

While Frangulis has found a lot of success as the CEO and co-founder of Oakberry, his work ethic remains that of a struggling entrepreneur.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve failed so many times before,\u201d he said. \u201cI had bars. I had restaurants. If you fail in the beginning, it\u2019s going to take a while before you feel accomplished. You have to be ready to take that responsibility every day. Know that if you [expletive] up, you have to be ready to [expletive] up five of six families.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, he has a high bar for his global healthy food brand. \u201cWe have such a massive, addressable market for Oakberry. I think we still have a long way to go, I\u2019m not going to stop anytime soon. I think we\u2019re up to something much bigger than what we\u2019ve done \u2019til now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Aryna Sabalenka Publicly Called Out Georgios Frangulis for Taking So Long to Propose<\/p>\n

After the couple announced their engagement, \u201cI can finally call him something else\u2026 FIANC\u00c9 \ud83d\udc8d,\u201d Sabalenka added in a separate post. After winning the Brisbane Internationale title on January 11, she called out Frangulis<\/a> for taking his sweet time to propose.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to my boyfriend,\u201d she told the crowd. \u201cHopefully, soon I can call you something else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The cameras immediately panned to Frangluis. \u201cLet\u2019s just put some extra pressure,\u201d Sabalenka added with a laugh.<\/p>\n

In an interview after the match, she doubled down when asked if she\u2019s calling for a wedding ring. \u201cI\u2019m just putting some pressure, I mean, how long? Come on,\u201d Sabalenka said with a huge smile on her face. \u201cI think by now he should figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
