The Flock<\/a> helps U.S. companies scale their tech teams by filling\u00a0their hiring needs with top-tier remote technology professionals from Latin America. In this age of AI, you might think demand would be down.<\/p>\n

Quite the contrary.<\/p>\n

Ramiro Gonz\u00e1lez Forcada, co-founder and CEO of the Miami-based startup, says U.S. and Central American companies want software developers with AI skillsets. \u201cThat\u2019s the most in-demand position right now,\u201d he says. Skilled independent contractors who are willing to learn and adapt to technology are what\u2019s in demand. \u201cYou need to be open to investigate constantly and explore new tools.\u201d <\/p>\n

Companies want to incorporate AI into their businesses but \u201cno one knows how to do it,\u201d Forcada added. \u201cThat\u2019s mainly the biggest challenge right now for AI,\u201d he says, citing an MIT study from last July that found that\u00a095% of\u00a0corporate AI\u00a0investments failed to deliver value.<\/p>\n

The Flock helps companies understand their goals and needs, Forcada says. \u201cWhat we try to do is help companies understand what they are building and what they would like to achieve. We are being that partner for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Once companies hire from The Flock\u2019s talent pool of over 10,000 professionals \u2013 developers, designers, AI specialists, data scientists and product managers \u2013 they can choose to have The Flock also manage the team if they wish.<\/p>\n

With their remote workers in a similar time zone, collaboration is easier and more fruitful for these companies. Companies that use The Flock\u2019s remote workers include Tower Travel, Cashea, Insud Pharma and Pepsi Co. Since last year, Banco Atlantida and leadership development company Co-Active Training Institute\u00a0(CTI) have become clients. <\/p>\n

Over the past year, The Flock has placed 150 more tech professionals in full-time remote roles across software engineering, product, data, and AI, adding up to 650 in total. \u201cIt\u2019s been a really good year with significant growth,\u201d says Forcada, who co-founded The Flock in 2021 with CTO Juan Cruz Montes and CPO Nicolas Castro and leads a team of 25.<\/p>\n

One of the Flock\u2019s new features is giving clients more control of hiring workers that are validated on the platform. \u201cYou can contact them, you can hire them through the platform without the need of being connected by an account manager,\u201d says Forcada, adding that it\u2019s more of a self-service process now but assistance is available if needed.<\/p>\n

Still, one of the biggest continuous challenges is letting U.S. companies know The Flock exists, as well a constantly changing industry trying to adapt to the new ways of working in the age of AI. \u201cBut again, nobody knows yet how it will be,\u201d Forcada says.<\/p>\n
