TALLAHASSEE, FL \u2014 Hopkins’ Eatery is planning to open its fourth Tallahassee location at 3431 Bannerman Rd, Suite 104, Tallahassee, FL 32312<\/a> during the week of April 20, with an opening expected by the end of April, owner Jacob Ogden told Business Debut.<\/p>\n

The locally owned sandwich and salad shop has been part of Tallahassee for more than 40 years. Ogden said the business was passed down through his family, from his grandmother, Martha \u201cDede\u201d Johnson, to his mother, Debbie Johnson, and aunt, Jennifer Poskey, before reaching the next generation.<\/p>\n

What to Expect<\/p>\n

Hopkins’ Eatery offers sandwiches, salads, homemade soups and house-made desserts in a fast-casual setting. Customer favorites include the Linda Special with turkey, provolone, alfalfa sprouts and parmesan Italian dressing on rye pumpernickel, along with the meatloaf sandwich.<\/p>\n

The Bannerman Crossings location will introduce several differences from existing stores. It will include a grill, allowing for expanded menu items like a salmon sandwich, grilled marinated shrimp sandwich, hamburgers and a chicken Philly.
\u201cThis one will have a grill like Monroe, so we\u2019ll be able to do more hot items,\u201d Ogden told Business Debut.<\/p>\n

It will also be the first Hopkins’ Eatery location with bar seating and the first to serve alcohol, including canned beer and wine. The restaurant is expected to have between 75 and 99 seats, including outdoor seating.<\/p>\n

Ogden said the restaurant will continue its focus on scratch-made soups and desserts made in-house. \u201cEverything we do is still made from scratch, and that\u2019s not changing,\u201d he told Business Debut.<\/p>\n

He said the carrot cake remains one of the most well-known items. Bread will continue to come from Tallahassee bakery Tasty Pastry, a partnership that has been in place for about 20 years.<\/p>\n

Ogden said the Bannerman area stood out due to its growth and activity. \u201cThere\u2019s just a lot of rooftops going up out there, and a lot of traffic heading toward Thomasville,\u201d he told Business Debut, also pointing to nearby Chiles High School and activity around Bannerman Crossings.<\/p>\n

He said the project also gained momentum with support from Summit Realty and events within the development.<\/p>\n

The new location will be led day to day by general manager Tyler Broome, while Ogden oversees all four stores. Longtime employee Steve Neal, who runs the Market Street location, will assist with opening before retiring.<\/p>\n

Opening Timeline<\/p>\n

Ogden said the team is targeting an opening during the week of April 20, with plans to open by the end of April.<\/p>\n

The Bannerman location is expected to operate from 11 a.m.\u20149 p.m. and is planned to be open seven days a week, making it the first Hopkins Eatery location to operate on a seven-day schedule.<\/p>\n
