Friends remembered the father killed in a hit-and-run boat crash<\/a> in Biscayne Bay, who was the founder of a meeting planning service company in South Florida.<\/p>\n

On Thursday, the\u00a0Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission released pictures of the boat that they believe possibly hit the father and sent his 14-year-old son to the hospital.<\/p>\n

According to the FWC, 55-year-old Davide Veglia and his son were on a boat in Biscayne Bay when a 20 to 30-foot vessel hit them and kept going.<\/p>\n

Joao Moraes was almost at a loss for words.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can’t stand God took this man, too young,\u201d Moraes said. \u201cI lost my best friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moraes is the founder of Brazilian Soccer Training Center in Aventura, where one of Veglia’s sons used to play at his soccer school. The two turned into business partners.<\/p>\n

\u201cDavide, my friend, the best friend, I miss in my life, great passion with soccer, with everything,\u201d Moraes said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Moraes says he talked with his friend on Wednesday morning, and they were supposed to have lunch on Friday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI’m in shock. Today, I was supposed to go to the soccer school, I can’t, I sat down all day and cried because I lost the best person in my life,\u201d Moraes said.<\/p>\n

Veglia founded ABTS Convention Services in North Bay Village, a company that provides\u00a0comprehensive solutions for medical associations.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the company said ABTS has served dozens of major medical associations and supported hundreds of thousands of international attendees worldwide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Davide Veglia founded ABTS Convention Services 31 years ago on the belief that international physicians attending U.S. medical meetings deserved a dedicated partner who understood their languages, their cultures, and their needs,” the statement said in part.<\/p>\n

“Davide was deeply respected across the medical meetings industry for his energy, his commitment to every client relationship, and his conviction that international attendance advances the global impact of medical education,” the statement said. “His passing is a profound loss to his family, to the ABTS team, and to the industry he helped shape.”<\/p>\n

The vessel that struck the victims is described as a dark blue boat with black bottom paint, 20\u201330 feet in length, with possibly four outboard motors. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe police have to catch these people,\u201d Moraes said. \u201cAnyone who knows these people, please call the police and report him.\u201d<\/p>\n
