A woman has died after a boat lost control out on Biscayne Bay on Saturday morning, according to authorities.<\/p>\n
At around 10:20 a.m. Miami-Dade Rescue units responded to a boating accident near Crandon Park Marina involving a \u201cvessel that had lost control,\u201d said Battalion Chief Gregory Louge.<\/p>\n
Two people who were on the boat in Biscayne Bay, north of the popular Nixon Beach Sandbar, were thrown into the water, according to Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the lead investigating agency. Authorities did not mention if another vessel was involved.<\/p>\n
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue pulled the pair out of the water and took them to the hospital. The woman later died from her injuries.<\/p>\n
The Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office says the Crandon Park Marina was closed after the accident. The agency announced the marina reopened shortly after 4 p.m. Saturday.<\/p>\n
Details on what led to the crash have not been released.<\/p>\n
Saturday\u2019s deadly accident was the second fatal boating crash on Biscayne Bay this week.<\/p>\n
On Wednesday night, a father and son were out on a dinghy off of Miami Beach when they were struck by another boat and thrown into the water. The father died and the son was injured.<\/p>\n
