A local grassroots group joins a statewide and global day of protest<\/a> on March 28 with a rally at the Florida Capitol.<\/p>\n

Indivisible Tallahassee will host \u201cNo Kings 3,\u201d a peaceful demonstration from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday in front of the Old Capitol. The event is part of a coordinated effort that includes more than 100 events across Florida and thousands worldwide.<\/p>\n

Organizers say the rally will focus on protecting democratic norms, promoting government accountability, and encouraging civic engagement under the banner, \u201cNo Thrones. No Crowns. No Kings,\u201d according to a news release.<\/p>\n

No Kings March 28 protest winding down<\/p>\n

At about 4:50 p.m., crowds began to disperse from downtown Tallahassee.<\/p>\n

According to journalist Stephany Matat, organizers are saying they\u2019ve estimated more than 10 million people have attended protests across the country.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of protestors stayed alongside the sidewalks outside the old Capiol, and others marched along the sidewalks chanting \u201cProtesting is a right.\u201d<\/p>\n

Other signs read \u201cTrump Lies, People Die\u201d and simple one-words: \u201cShame\u201d or \u201cNope.\u201d<\/p>\n

Protestors held signs reading \u201cI Like My ICE Crushed\u201d or \u201cDeport ICE,\u201d and many said that the Trump administration\u2019s aggressive immigration agenda was a reason they came to protest.That was the case for Pam Latham, a 70-year-old Tallahassee resident, who said abortion rights and immigration were key issues for her on why she attended the No Kings protest.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey\u2019re going to places where people are working and arresting law-abiding citizens,\u201d Latham said. \u201cI just don\u2019t understand why we\u2019re torturing people when they\u2019re working hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Security keeps a watchful eye on protest from above<\/p>\n

With as many as 2,000 protesting below, law enforcement officials are positioned at points on the ground throughout the protest and are perched overhead on the roofs of capital complex buildings.<\/p>\n

Iran war hangs over latest No Kings protest\"Rebecca<\/p>\n

Trump administration officials have defended this action by saying the president has the constitutional authority to defend U.S. interests.\u201cTrump has acted independently, autonomously,\u201d Clemans said. \u201cThere\u2019s no consent from the people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Photos and videos begin to spill on social media<\/p>\n

As the protest gets underway, photos and videos are beginning to ricochet around social media.<\/p>\n

“Trump is in trouble,” one person posted as she posted a video of her driving by a crowd lining the street outside the old Capitol with signs.<\/p>\n

Journalist Stephany Matat reports that about 1,500 protestors are holding signs and chanting at Tallahassee\u2019s No Kings protest at the front of the Florida Historic Capitol building.<\/p>\n

This is one of more than 100 protests across Florida, where protestors are focused on speaking out against the Trump administration\u2019s immigration and foreign policies, particularly his mass deportation agenda carried out by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.<\/p>\n

Protestors are wearing inflatable suits, or holding signs reading \u201cNo Kings, No ICE,\u201d or \u201cSave Democracy.\u201d Many are even holding signs criticizing Trump voting by mail in Florida, although he\u2019s a staunch critic of mail-in voting.<\/p>\n

Protest begins with about 1,500 people in attendace<\/p>\n

As the protest begins at 3 p.m., organizers are already estimating that 1,500 people are out protesting the Trump administration’s policies outside the Old Capitol in Florida.<\/p>\n

The demonstration began with a caravan of 15 cars driving by the capital, decorated with signs like “Geezers against Ceasers.” Organizers said the caravan was fueled by “the Old People Brigade.”<\/p>\n

Crowd control amid two events drawing masses: Springtime and No Kings<\/p>\n

The protest comes on the same day as the city’s annual Springtime Tallahassee festivities<\/a>. Initially the protest was scheduled at the same time as the parade but was later bumped<\/a>. Even though there is distance between the two events, there is still plenty of overlap with parking and attendance.”The Indivisible rally will be located on the northern corner of the old Capitol grounds, near the intersection of Jefferson and Monroe Streets,” according to organizers. “Look for our banners and sound system. Tabling will be near our rally.”<\/p>\n

Springtime Tallahassee parade draws thousands to downtown<\/p>\n

Thousands of families and friends gathered to enjoy the 58th Annual Springtime Tallahassee Grand Parade on Saturday, March 28, 2026.<\/p>\n

Another group will be holding a different rally on the Capitol steps.<\/p>\n

“We’re expecting large crowds today,” organizers wrote on Facbook. “This is also the day of Springtime Tallahassee’s festival on Park Ave, and a parade down Monroe Street. The parade ends around noon.We are not sure how fast streets will reopen following the parade.”<\/p>\n

Could this weekend’s No Kings protests be largest ever?<\/p>\n

With more than 3,100 events planned nationwide to protest President\u00a0Donald Trump<\/a>‘s actions and policies, organizers expect the No Kings protests to draw millions of Americans into the streets March 28.<\/p>\n

Two earlier No Kings protests brought out huge crowds, and organizers hope this event will be among the largest days of protest in U.S. history. The ACLU estimated that the No Kings protests in initial June 2025 drew\u00a0about 5 million people<\/a>\u00a0to 1,800 events, and the\u00a0October 2025 demonstrations<\/a>\u00a0drew 7 million to 2,500 events.<\/p>\n

There are 100 or so “No Kings” protests are planned in Florida on Saturday, March 28, to protest President Donald Trump and his administration’s policies on immigration enforcement, LGBTQ+ people and minorities, funding for the country’s safety nets, and the current military strikes in Venezuela and Iran.<\/p>\n

Can you be arrested for protesting in Florida? No, but Florida does have some restrictions protesters need to be aware of.<\/p>\n
