FORT MYERS, Fla. (WINK) \u2014 Protests swept across the country as people rallied against President Donald Trump’s administration as part of “No King’s” protests on Saturday.<\/p>\n
There were demonstrations in all over the country and here in Southwest Florida.<\/p>\n
No King protests popped up across Southwest Florida on Saturday, from Naples to Estero.<\/p>\n
Honking, singing, and signs filled the air on Saturday as Southwest Florida joined nationwide No Kings protests.<\/p>\n
“I love my country, and I’m ashamed of this administration,” said Wendy Chase, a protester.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people lined U.S. 41 and Daniels Parkway on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n
On the ground, people like Jimmy Zambonis said they’re fed up with high gas prices and the war in Iran.<\/p>\n
“The price of gas, the price of food, it’s hurting all of us, and we can make a change,” Zambonis said.<\/p>\n

Over in Estero, there weren’t as many people. But it brought out some first-time protesters like Dawn Zammitti.<\/p>\n
“We don’t support the war,” Zammitti said. “A lot of friends in Minneapolis, I’m very concerned about ICE overreaching, those are my two main ones.”<\/p>\n
Lee County Republican Chair Mercedes Price-Harry said Trump is a transformative president. She said Democrats are upset they’re not in power.<\/p>\n
“How many No Kings protests can you have at least be a little original,” Price-Harry said. “We don’t have a king. We’ve never had a king.”<\/p>\n
“It’s very easy to just persuade people to be anti-whoever is in charge,” Price-Harry said. “And I think that’s a lot of what we’re seeing.”<\/p>\n
But protesters said that Saturday’s event is one that crosses party lines.<\/p>\n
“This is absolutely not about right and left,” Chase said. “This is about right and wrong.
