Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>‘ wide receiver Jakobi Meyers<\/a> was listed among the best mid-to-late round wide receiver gems over the last 10 NFL drafts by Pro Football Focus’<\/a> Lauren Gray.<\/p>\n Meyers would go undrafted out of North Carolina State in 2019 and began his NFL career with the New England Patriots.<\/p>\n As Gray notes, most of his college snaps came strictly from the slot. Meyers would go on to catch 146 passes for 1,700 yards with nine touchdowns over his final two years.<\/p>\n Since then, however, Meyers has developed into a very well-rounded wideout, which is one of the many aspects that make him such a good fit for Liam Coen’s offense.<\/p>\n “Although Meyers saw most of his work in the slot in college, he has turned into a versatile NFL receiver,” wrote Gray. “He has seen 148 targets on the outside over the past two seasons, earning a 91.7 PFF receiving grade on those plays. Overall, he has caught 163 passes for 1,874 yards between the\u00a0Las Vegas Raiders<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Jacksonville Jaguars<\/a>\u00a0since 2024. He also holds the league’s fourth-best drop rate in that span (2.3%).”<\/p>\n Expert NFL picks: Exclusive betting insights only at USA TODAY.<\/a><\/p>\n The Jaguars acquired Meyers in a trade with the Raiders prior to last year’s deadline.<\/p>\n Upon arriving in Jacksonville, Meyers would make an immediate impact, as Coen described<\/a> earlier this offseason. Meyers’ ability to attack the middle and intermediate parts of the field, along with being a willing run-blocker, allows him to fill a very important role within the Jaguars’ offense.<\/p>\n Having that presence in the offense who can handle those key roles then frees up the other\u00a0Jaguars<\/a>‘ pass-catchers. He also brought needed reliability as a pass-catcher to a Jaguars’ wide receiver room that was struggling with drops early last season.<\/p>\n
