THE FLATS\u202f\u2013\u00a0Georgia Tech women\u2019s tennis\u00a0secured a gritty 4-2 victory over Florida State Sunday to wrap up the 2026 spring slate at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.\u00a0<\/p>\n
After falling in doubles action, the Yellow Jackets (10-9, 4-4 ACC) battled through singles action, taking four of the five decisions against the Seminoles (4-14, 0-8 ACC)\u00a0en\u00a0route to a ninth win on home court this season.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Florida State managed to get the doubles point before\u00a0Alejandra Cruz\u00a0and\u00a0Seri\u00a0Nayuki\u00a0\u2013 the 77th-ranked duo in the country \u2013 grinded out a 7-6 (7-5) win on court one to avoid the\u00a0doubles sweep.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In singles action,\u00a0Cruz cruised to a 6-3, 6-2 victory on court one, completing a two-win senior day for the Mexico City native.\u00a0Given Roach\u00a0then added a swift victory on court\u00a0three, 6-2, 6-2, to put the Jackets ahead.\u00a0The Seminoles evened the score at two apiece before\u00a0Taly Licht\u00a0took home an impressive three-set win,\u00a02-6, 6-4, 6-4, placing the Jackets in front again.\u00a0In another three-set match,\u00a0Nayuki\u00a0clinched the win on court four, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4.\u00a0<\/p>\n
