TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – In just over a month, a hearing will determine if a woman who was charged with killing her mother should remain in a mental health facility. <\/p>\n
Earleen Tucker was found not guilty by reason of insanity in November, according to court documents.<\/p>\n
Those documents revealed Tucker is \u201cdiagnosed as having a major mental illness\u201d and was \u201cinsane at the time of the offense.\u201d <\/p>\n
The court ordered her to undergo treatment at a mental health facility.<\/p>\n
A hearing, scheduled for May, will determine if Tucker should remain in the facility or if \u201cconditional release is appropriate.\u201d As part of the hearing, the mental health facility will provide a report addressing whether or not she meets criteria for a less secure placement or release. <\/p>\n

Tucker was charged with murder in the brutal killing of her mother, according to arrest papers. <\/p>\n
Arrest documents from March 2024 described a gruesome scene<\/a> at a Hartsfield Way home and confession from Tucker just hours after investigators discovered the scene of the alleged crime. <\/p>\n Detectives at the scene found Tucker \u201cwandering the neighborhood naked.\u201d While attempting to find clothes for her, officers discovered her mother\u2019s body in the house.
