Postcard perfect weather made the 58th Annual Springtime Tallahassee Festival even more festive.<\/p>\n

Saturday’s celebration began with the traditional parade on Monroe Street. Among the happy participants was Neil Rambana, who was part of the Marzuq Shrine Temple’s scooter patrol.<\/p>\n

“I’m amazed at the color on all of the costumes of the people who are participating! I’ve never seen it this big! It’s fantastic!”<\/p>\n

With thousands of spectators along Monroe Street, and hundreds of students in the line of marching bands, Leon School Superintendent Rocky Hanna says the parade is a great promotional tool.<\/p>\n

“When Leon’s band goes by, or Lincoln’s band goes by, or the Raa band goes by, little kids who are standing on the sidewalk say, ‘Hey! I want to be in that band!'”<\/p>\n

The parade is also a great showcase for organizations like Honor Flight. Just ask member Tom Morgan.<\/p>\n

“It’s super important to get the message out because our veterans have to be honored for the services they rendered for our country.”<\/p>\n
