Obviously, every game we want to win, but considering that we were just on the road in Chicago and this quick turnaround with Gotham, getting to have two games at home we will take the clean\u00a0sheet\u00a0and we will take the point. These are the current champions right\u00a0now\u00a0and we know how talented they are and some of the players that they have, so for us to keep them quiet, we should take a lot of positives from that. Again,\u00a0pleased\u00a0with the point. Four points away from home is a good foundation to build on and now looking forward to Friday\u2019s game.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
On Gotham FC\u2019s offensive threats\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve got\u00a0some\u00a0really talented\u00a0players.\u00a0You\u2019ve\u00a0got to be mindful of where players like Rose\u00a0Lavelle picks\u00a0off\u00a0really good\u00a0spaces, Esther [Gonz\u00e1lez] dropping down, and then the threats they can bring off the bench, as well, in Midge Purce and Jordynn Dudley, so\u00a0I thought we managed it\u00a0really well. I thought we picked our moments. It\u00a0would\u2019ve\u00a0been nice to test their goalkeeper a little bit\u00a0more, but\u00a0wasn\u2019t\u00a0meant to be. But again,\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0had back-to-back clean sheets, which is great for us considering the first two games that\u00a0we\u2019ve\u00a0had and\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0something\u00a0to build on moving forward.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0win so\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0a little bit upset, but\u00a0I think it\u00a0was really\u00a0good work\u00a0from the team defensively, so we\u00a0have to\u00a0keep\u00a0going, and look at Friday, when we have another game.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n
On the team\u2019s consecutive clean sheets\u00a0 <\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, I think the team\u2019s realized the most important thing is to have a clean sheet. Apart from that,\u00a0we\u2019ll\u00a0keep going, and if we have a clean sheet, we have more chances to win.\u00a0So\u00a0I think\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0going the right\u00a0way\u00a0and we\u00a0have to\u00a0keep going.\u201d\u00a0 <\/p>\n
On weathering the offensive pressure in the second half\u00a0 <\/p>\n
\u201cActually, we talked about it the other day, and\u00a0I think that we\u00a0need to have fun while\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0defending and\u00a0bring\u00a0that energy back.\u00a0So\u00a0once\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0enjoying what\u00a0we\u2019re\u00a0doing,\u00a0even if\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0defending, I think the\u00a0team\u2019s\u00a0doing a really\u00a0good job\u00a0in that.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy\u00a0initial\u00a0thought is road warriors. This is\u00a0not an easy place, this is not an easy week,\u00a0so\u00a0really happy with our performance. Unfortunately, we\u00a0didn\u2019t\u00a0win, but at the end of the day, we got a point, and being away from home, being away from our fans, three-game week, I think\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0a\u00a0pretty decent\u00a0outcome.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the Pride\u2019s\u00a0success on the road\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI think in our minds,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0underdog\u00a0mentality. I think we really thrive\u00a0off of\u00a0that, and at the end of the day, we have nothing to lose.\u00a0We have nothing to lose and everything to prove, so I think just embodying that and every tackle, every pass, every play\u00a0just giving it our all and having each other’s backs, and I think\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0really going to propel us throughout the season.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
On the\u00a0team\u2019s mentality defensively\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI think for us,\u00a0it\u2019s\u00a0just taking pride in our defending, taking pride in our set pieces, and Seb [Hines] is really emphasizing all the little\u00a0details\u00a0and I think\u00a0that\u2019s\u00a0really what helped us today\u00a0to get a clean sheet.
