MIRAMAR, Fla. \u2014 The Keiser University men’s outdoor track and field team competed at the Nova Southeastern University Shark Invitational on Friday, March 28, with distance standout Jesse Songo<\/a> delivering a historic performance and a host of Seahawks posting personal records across multiple events.<\/p>\n

Songo headlined the day with a dominant double in the distance events, claiming first place in both the 800m and the 1,500 meters. His 1,500m victory was particularly noteworthy, as his winning time of 3:54.88 shattered the Keiser school record while also standing as a new personal best. Earlier in the day, he crossed the tape first in the 800m with a time of 1:54.68, continuing his outstanding form heading into the heart of the outdoor season. Fellow distance runner Adrian Rivadulla<\/a> added a seventh-place finish in the 1,500m (4:07.32), while Othmane Gharassi rounded out the group with a 16th-place finish in the 1,500m (4:12.90) and a fourth-place showing in the 5,000m (15:51.48).<\/p>\n

In the hurdles, Rameau Estime<\/a> turned in one of the meet’s best all-around performances, sweeping both hurdle events with a first-place finish in the 400m hurdles (56.91) and a runner-up result in the 110m hurdles (14.91). Estime also anchored the 4×100 relay squad alongside Alex Cruz<\/a>, Dallas DeSouza, and Arthur Dupuy<\/a>, which finished fifth with a time of 42.90. Tyler Seraphin contributed a personal-best 16.26 in the 110m hurdles (8th) and a 1:01.25 in the 400m hurdles (9th).<\/p>\n

In the sprints, Cruz placed 12th in the 200m dash with a time of 22.37, while Dylan Spence<\/a> (22.97, PR) and Kehlil McGinnis<\/a> (23.02, PR) both broke personal records to finish 23rd and 27th, respectively. The 400m dash saw DeSouza clock a personal-best 47.86 to earn second place \u2014 the top individual sprint finish of the meet \u2014 with Ty Goddard<\/a> (52.15, 21st), Spence (52.70, PR, 23rd), Francesco De Nicola (52.93, 25th), and McGinnis (54.58, 28th) also competing in the event.<\/p>\n

The field events were equally productive for the Seahawks. Casey Wood<\/a> claimed first in the shot put with a throw of 16.16m and added a third-place finish in the discus (40.73m). Christian Nicolas<\/a> earned silver in the shot put with a personal-best 15.42m, and Shyloh Nicholson contributed marks of 9.84m (10th, shot put) and 25.27m (10th, discus). In the javelin, Dupuy and Claudio Pugnetti<\/a> went 1-2 with throws of 56.71m and 56.45m, respectively, while Armani Norcius added a fourth-place mark of 43.35m. In the horizontal jumps, Sigmund Le Fjeld<\/a> placed third in the long jump (6.35m), Dupuy was fifth (6.22m), and Charlem Diable<\/a> took seventh (6.20m). Diable then went on to win the triple jump with a personal-best 14.57m.<\/p>\n
