{"id":211766,"date":"2026-03-30T15:08:28","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:08:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/211766\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T15:08:28","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T15:08:28","slug":"video-shows-boat-spinning-out-of-control-during-deadly-biscayne-bay-accident-nbc-6-south-florida","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/211766\/","title":{"rendered":"Video shows boat spinning out of control during deadly Biscayne Bay accident \u2013 NBC 6 South Florida"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>New video shows the moments after a man and a woman were flung into the water <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcmiami.com\/news\/local\/crandon-park-marina-closed-after-boating-accident-deputies-say\/3787680\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">in a deadly boating accident in Biscayne Bay over the weekend. <\/a><\/p>\n<p>Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said the incident happened Saturday morning in the waters near West Point and Crandon Park Marina.<\/p>\n<p>Two people, 54-year-old Neil Schwabe of Coconut Grove and 33-year-old Claudia Orellanes of Coral Gables, were on board the 27-foot boat when they were thrown into the water and struck by their own vessel as it continued moving through the water, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission officials said.<\/p>\n<p>Schwabe was airlifted to the hospital. Orellanes was pulled from the water but did not survive.<\/p>\n<p>New footage showed the boat going in circles with no one on board. Seconds later, law enforcement steps in and brings the vessel to a stop.<\/p>\n<p>Investigators are still trying to determine what caused Saturday&#8217;s crash, but are urging boaters to take precautions before heading out onto the water.
