At each meeting, members hear short pitches from three local nonprofits that are randomly selected and then vote to award the pooled funds to the nonprofit with the most votes.<\/p>\n<p>An additional $18,000 in grant funding that was received for the 2026 season will increase the first-place award, plus extend grants to the second- and third-place nonprofits.<\/p>\n<p>100+ Women Who Care Sanibel &amp; Captiva Islands is powered by the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, and Florida Trust Wealth Management is its season sponsor.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting is open to members and those interested in joining.<\/p>\n<p>To sign up as a member, visit <a href=\"http:\/\/SanCap100.org\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">SanCap100.org<\/a> or mail a check for $300 to P.O. Box 1429, Sanibel, FL 33957; checks should be made payable to the Charitable Foundation of the Islands, with \u201c100+ Women Who Care\u201d in the memo line.<\/p>\n<p>Members can attend the meeting in person or via Zoom.<\/p>\n<p>To attend or for more information, visit online or contact 100women@sancapcfi.org.<\/p>\n<p>SCIAR HOLDS THIRSTY THURSDAY EVENT<\/p>\n<p>The Sanibel &amp; Captiva Islands Association of Realtors (SCIAR) hosted its Thirsty Thursday networking event on March 5 at MudBugs Cajun Kitchen on Sanibel.<\/p>\n<p>It brought together local Realtors and affiliate members for connection and conversation. <\/p>\n<p>The event was sponsored by Regions Bank.<\/p>\n<p>INTERIM LEADERSHIP AT HISTORICAL VILLAGE<\/p>\n<p>The Sanibel Historical Museum and Village reported that it has engaged Soukup Strategic Solution to conduct an organizational assessment and provide interim executive leadership support.<\/p>\n<p>It is a Southwest Florida-based consulting firm that advises nonprofit organizations nationwide on governance, fundraising strategy and organizational leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Soukup Strategic Solutions consultant Elaine Reed will lead the assessment and serve as interim executive director for the historical village during the initial phase of the work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEngaging Soukup Strategic Solutions and Elaine Reed represents an important step as we evaluate the organization\u2019s future and ensure long-term sustainability,\u201d board President Gail Migliorini said. \u201cWe are excited to benefit from Elaine\u2019s experience and guidance during this process.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Reed brings over 35 years of nonprofit leadership experience, including serving as chief executive officer of the Naples Historical Society from 2007-24. Her career includes leadership roles and consulting engagements supporting nonprofit organizations locally, nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n<p>CFI BOARD EMBARKS ON STRATEGIC PLAN<\/p>\n<p>The Charitable Foundation of the Islands\u2019 (CFI) Board of Directors has embarked on a strategic planning process to explore its path forward and the role it can play in the community\u2019s long-term direction.<\/p>\n<p>CFI reported that the Potrero Group was selected to assist in the process, and Potrero Group Chief Executive Officer and Principal Cleveland Justis joined the board on Feb. 12-13.<\/p>\n<p>The result was a new Strategic Framework and Implementation Roadmap designed to ensure that CFI remains a strong and sustainable partner to the island community. The strategic plan also outlines priorities for the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>CFI added that it looks forward to sharing the plan with the community in the near future.<\/p>\n<p>JOHN R. WOOD WELCOMES PEACOCK<\/p>\n<p>John R. Wood Christie\u2019s International Real Estate announced the addition of Ava Peacock as social media and content specialist.<\/p>\n<p>She will lead the creation and execution of the company\u2019s social media and content strategy, producing photo and video assets highlighting its agents, listings and lifestyle and the communities it serves. Peacock\u2019s work will support brand visibility and engagement across key platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<p>She will work with the digital media manager and marketing team to develop and publish content consistent with John R. Wood Properties and Christie\u2019s International Real Estate brand standards. Her responsibilities will include managing day-to-day social media activity, creating short- and long-form content, and leveraging performance insights to refine strategy and build audience engagement.<\/p>\n<p>Peacock graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in digital media design with honors.
