{"id":212198,"date":"2026-03-30T21:32:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-30T21:32:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/212198\/"},"modified":"2026-03-30T21:32:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-30T21:32:24","slug":"tampa-man-arrested-following-reports-of-threats-and-attacks-on-a-usf-student","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/212198\/","title":{"rendered":"Tampa man arrested following reports of threats and attacks on a USF student"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Tampa man faces multiple charges after a student reported being attacked and threatened, according to HCSO.<\/p>\n<p>TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 A Tampa man was arrested following an investigation into reports that he had been threatening and attacking a student at the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wtsp.com\/video\/news\/local\/hillsboroughcounty\/a-hearing-was-held-monday-for-three-men-accused-of-disrupting-a-usf-muslim-student-association-prayer-group\/67-d3544ad3-fe6f-40a5-aecc-560fa57c9545\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">University of South Florida<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Hillsborough County Sheriff&#8217;s Office said Monday that Ashtin Andreasen, 21, was taken into custody and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on March 27.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives said they were called on March 26 to the USF campus in Tampa after a student reported being strangled, battered and threatened with a knife during multiple incidents throughout several days at an off-campus location.<\/p>\n<p>Detectives said that they learned that Andreasen also had an active warrant issued by USF police for strangulation and false imprisonment of the same victim.<\/p>\n<p>According to Hillsborough County jail records, Andreasen is facing 11 charges, including battery and tampering with a witness, among others, and bond was set at $43,000.<\/p>\n<p>Andreasen is currently being held at the Falkenburg Road Jail, records show.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"A Tampa man faces multiple charges after a student reported being attacked and threatened, according to HCSO.
