A heated neighbourly dispute in Florida took a dramatic turn when a man allegedly brandished a sword during an argument, police said.<\/p>\n

Officers in Cape Coral arrested 41-year-old Raul Elosegui Fernandez last week after he was accused of threatening a neighbour with a large bladed weapon. He has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon. No injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Police said they were called to a residence on Everest Parkway at about 6.57 pm following reports of a disturbance involving a weapon. The caller told dispatchers that his neighbour had threatened him with a sword before driving away in a white Chevrolet pickup truck.<\/p>\n

According to investigators, what began as a verbal disagreement escalated when Fernandez retrieved a sword from his vehicle. The weapon was described as having a tan handle and a metal blade measuring about three feet in length.<\/p>\n

Police said Fernandez raised the sword above his shoulder and approached the victim while making threatening statements. The victim then retreated into his home and contacted authorities.<\/p>\n

Officers later located Fernandez\u2019s truck at his residence on Southwest 6th Place. The sword was reportedly visible inside the vehicle and was seized as evidence.<\/p>\n

Fernandez was taken into custody shortly afterwards.
