ORLANDO, Fla. \u2013 A new mobile maternity clinic, launched by Orlando Health Women\u2019s Institute, will begin seeing patients April 1.<\/p>\n
The clinic aims to bring comprehensive maternal health services directly to pregnant and postpartum women who have a difficult time finding care.<\/p>\n
The clinic offers a wide range of services, including routine prenatal visits, ultrasounds and health screenings for conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. <\/p>\n
Patients also have access to mental health support, vaccinations and connections to community resources.<\/p>\n
The program is designed to tackle common obstacles that prevent women from seeking care \u2014 including transportation challenges and childcare needs \u2014 ensuring expectant mothers receive timely, adequate support.<\/p>\n
Leaders with Orlando Health explained why this clinic is so important.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe know through the patients that we care for every day, whether or not they have had complete maternal healthcare, \u201csaid Suzanne Worthington, Orlando Health\u2019s Chief Quality Officer. \u201cWe can see that there are gaps; sometimes patients don\u2019t make it to all their appointments before they have the baby or they don\u2019t make critical tests or ultrasounds that they need before the baby is born. We have the data that shows us where the gaps are and people getting to the care they need.\u201d<\/p>\n
