(WCTV) &#8211; Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed a bill into law Tuesday that requires judges to revoke a person\u2019s bond once they have been convicted of dangerous crimes, including sex offenses.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">The legislation, well known as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/02\/24\/missys-law-heads-senate-with-hopes-prohibiting-release-dangerous-criminals-awaiting-sentencing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2026\/02\/24\/missys-law-heads-senate-with-hopes-prohibiting-release-dangerous-criminals-awaiting-sentencing\/\">Missy\u2019s Law<\/a>, was named after 5-year-old Missy Mogle, who was killed in Tallahassee last year. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"figure-img img-fluid mx-auto d-block\" alt=\"Florida Senate passes Missy\u2019s Law, requiring bond revocation after conviction\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/1774976129_36_STC5APVZTVE3FCWQ5CTCQPKEKQ.png\" width=\"980\" height=\"551\" \/>Florida Senate passes Missy\u2019s Law, requiring bond revocation after conviction(Pepper Mogle)<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">Her stepfather, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/05\/27\/mother-stepdad-charged-with-murder-tuesday-death-5-year-old-tallahassee-girl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.wctv.tv\/2025\/05\/27\/mother-stepdad-charged-with-murder-tuesday-death-5-year-old-tallahassee-girl\/\">Daniel Spencer<\/a>, is facing charges in connection to her death, which occurred while he was awaiting sentencing on a charge of traveling to meet a minor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"text | article-text\">He and Missy\u2019s mother, Chloe Spencer, are both facing murder, abuse and child neglect charges in the 5-year-old\u2019s tragic death.
