The Shady Spring Tigers<\/a> are taking a road trip to challenge the St. Petersburg Catholic Barons<\/a> at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shady Spring has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday’s game will give them a chance to turn things around.<\/p>\n

Shady Spring is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Calvary Christian on Monday. They lost 13-1 to the Warriors. The matchup marked the Tigers’ lowest-scoring contest so far this season.<\/p>\n

Shady Spring saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cutter Boggs<\/a>, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Boggs is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he’s now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he’s played.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, St. Petersburg Catholic won against IMG Academy Teal on Friday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Barons put the hurt on Tarpon Springs with a sharp 11-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Barons.<\/p>\n

St. Petersburg Catholic also got a great performance from Carlos Marroquin<\/a> as he didn’t allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched. The Barons are 2-1 when Marroquin allows one or fewer hits, but 7-11 otherwise.<\/p>\n

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jared Samon<\/a>, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That’s the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Murphy Graham<\/a>, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.<\/p>\n

St. Petersburg Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. That’s the best OBP they’ve posted all season.<\/p>\n

St. Petersburg Catholic’s record is now 9-12. As for Shady Spring, they moved to 3-2 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.<\/p>\n
