TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – Community members gathered to highlight valuable programs, services and resources for people living in the 32304 zip code on Tuesday. <\/p>\n
The event, called 32304 Summit: Moving Forward Together, took place at New Mount Zion AME Church.<\/p>\n
The summit featured panel discussions, highlighting much-needed resources, including food access, healthcare, education and housing. <\/p>\n
Over the last seven years, the number of people living in poverty in that zip code has decreased to 49%. <\/p>\n

While there have been improvements, Abigail Thomas with the Leon County Office of Human Services and Community Partnerships says there\u2019s still more work to be done. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe know that addressing poeverty isn\u2019t just one thing, right, it\u2019s a combination of the county\u2019s efforts and investments in partnership with the nonprofit sector, higher education, healthcare, and all of us really working together to see how our resources can help meet the needs of the community in the best way possible to continue to move that needle.\u201d <\/p>\n
Thomas says Tuesday\u2019s summit is important to highlight what\u2019s been accomplished so far, and push for even more resources in the community. <\/p>\n
The county says it\u2019ll continue to host other opportunities where people living in the zip code can receive more information and assistance. <\/p>\n
