TAMPA, Fla. \u2014 A Lakeland couple pleaded guilty in federal court to a series of armed robberies targeting businesses in Tampa and Seffner last summer, according to the U.S. Attorney\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
Andres Correa, 39, pleaded guilty to four Hobbs Act robbery counts, four firearm charges tied to violent crimes, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and conspiracy. Cassandra Kerr, 46, pleaded guilty to two robbery counts, three firearm charges and conspiracy.<\/p>\n
Federal prosecutors said both defendants face up to life in prison. Sentencing dates have not been set.<\/p>\n
According to court records, prosecutors say Correa and Kerr first robbed a food truck on Sheldon Road in Tampa on July 28, 2025. Investigators said Correa entered the business, displayed a firearm and demanded money while Kerr remained outside acting as a lookout.<\/p>\n
Authorities said the pair then robbed a gas station in Tampa on Aug. 5, where Correa allegedly pointed a pistol at a victim while demanding cash.<\/p>\n
Two days later, prosecutors said they robbed a food mart in Tampa, with Correa again entering the business armed while Kerr remained outside.<\/p>\n
Investigators said Correa also robbed a smoke shop in Seffner on Aug. 19, holding a customer at gunpoint and demanding money from a clerk.<\/p>\n
Federal agents and deputies executed search warrants Aug. 26 at two residences, where investigators said they found clothing matching surveillance footage, a firearm, a holster and a handwritten ledger listing banks and smoke shops.<\/p>\n
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Hillsborough County Sheriff\u2019s Office.<\/p>\n
