This year, every restaurant in Florida is a contender to become part of the 2026 Michelin Guide.<\/p>\n
The internationally famous dining guide, which first turned its eyes to the state in 2022, has announced that the Florida selection has been expanded to include all of Florida, from Jacksonville to Pensacola, from Bradenton to the Florida Keys and beyond.<\/p>\n
This means that not only are restaurants eligible for the prestigious Michelin stars but also they could be designated as Bib Gourmands (budget-minded restaurants that offer good food at a good price) or even as recommended additions to the guide.<\/p>\n
Whether the inspectors make it to Panama Beach or Gainesville remains to be seen, of course. Wherever they travel, they focus on five metrics: quality of the products used; mastery of flavor and cooking techniques; the personality of the chef represented in the dining experience; harmony of flavors; and how consistent meals are between inspector visits.<\/p>\n
Miami was among the first three Florida cities to be considered, along with Orlando and Tampa. Ten Miami restaurants earned Michelin stars and one earned two (L\u2019Atelier de Jo\u00ebl Robuchon in the Design District).
