TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) – The Leon County Sheriff\u2019s Office held a press conference announcing the details of 18 human trafficking arrests on Wednesday. <\/p>\n
During the conference, LCSO shared information on Operation Cupid\u2019s Clean Up, which was conducted over three days in early February that targeted human trafficking and sexual exploitation at a local business. <\/p>\n
According to LCSO, the operation focused on identifying and helping potential victims of human trafficking while also targeting those profiting from exploitation. <\/p>\n

\u201cIf you\u2019re involved in these types of crimes, we\u2019re going to put your face everywhere in this community so everyone knows who you are and we want you to know that we are coming for you,\u201d Sheriff Walt McNeil said. \u201cWe talked about being here for you, you folks are out there committing these crimes, we are coming after you with everything we got.\u201d <\/p>\n
During the operation, LCSO detectives made online contact with more than 150 people responding to undercover advertisements. <\/p>\n
LCSO said several victims accepted help, including placement in safe housing, while other were given resources for future support.<\/p>\n
