JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2014 The Florida Department of Transportation has scheduled continuous northbound double lane and ramp closures for the Buckman Bridge starting Friday night. <\/p>\n
The closures are part of a maintenance project to replace finger joints and perform structural repairs on the Interstate 295 crossing. The project also involves structural steel work and partial coatings on the bridge.<\/p>\n
>>> STREAM ACTION NEWS JAX LIVE <<<<\/a><\/p>\n Two outside lanes of I-295 North are scheduled to close Friday at 10 p.m. and reopen by 4 a.m. Monday. <\/p>\n The ramp from San Jos\u00e9 Boulevard, also known as State Road 13, to I-295 North will also be closed during the same period. Motorists will be detoured via Old St. Augustine Road to access the interstate while the ramp is closed. <\/p>\n Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow for additional travel time throughout the weekend.<\/p>\n [DOWNLOAD: Free Action News Jax app for alerts as news breaks<\/a>]<\/p>\n Real-time traffic alerts for the area are available through the FL511 website<\/a>.
