STUART, Fla. (CBS12) \u2014 A man who was allegedly acting erratically in a Martin County neighborhood randomly attacked and stabbed a woman Thursday.<\/p>\n

The woman was critically injured following the attack, and the suspect, identified as Kersten Francilus, 25, has been taken into custody, the sheriff\u2019s office says.<\/p>\n

MCSO says the incident occurred near SE Black Oak Lane in the Southwood community in Stuart. Deputies say neighbors began calling the sheriff\u2019s office after a man was reported to be knocking on doors and acting erratically.<\/p>\n

Deputies say the suspect encountered the woman in the street of the residential neighborhood. The suspect then began a vicious, unprovoked attack, stabbing her multiple times, the sheriff\u2019s office says.<\/p>\n

The suspect was quickly located following the attack.<\/p>\n
