A man was arrested in a deadly shooting along A1A in Fort Lauderdale early Tuesday, authorities said. <\/p>\n
Police said they were called to a shooting in the 1400 block of North Fort Lauderdale Beach Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
While on their way there, officers were advised that there was a man who may have been involved in the shooting “walking in an unknown direction holding a black t-shirt.”<\/p>\n
When police got to the scene, they found a vehicle that had crashed into the seawall. Inside, the driver was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.<\/p>\n
The victim was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he was pronounced dead, police said. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, “several other officers arrived on scene and located a subject fitting the description provided,” according to authorities. That man was detained. <\/p>\n
Police said the suspect is currently in police custody.\u00a0The identities of those involved have not been released.<\/p>\n
A Ring doorbell camera video obtained by NBC6 showed a shirtless man who appeared to be armed going door-to-door in the Fort Lauderdale neighborhood shortly after 2:30 a.m.<\/p>\n
He’s seen walking up to a home with a duffel bag before he puts it down and bangs on the door, then walks away. A few minutes later, he returns, appearing to still be armed, as he grabs the bag and walks away.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey were yelling and screaming at each other and then gunshots,\u201d said Daniel Caden, who heard the gunshots.<\/p>\n
Police confirmed that the man was arrested on unrelated charges, but haven’t confirmed that he was the gunman.<\/p>\n
