Cape Coral is moving forward with plans to widen Cape Coral Parkway East by restriping existing lanes and updating its traffic signal timing and parking layout.<\/p>\n
The plan aims to improve traffic flow and reduce congestion in the Cape\u2019s growing entertainment district and beyond, with work extending along the Parkway from Del Prado Boulevard to Chiquita Boulevard.<\/p>\n
City Council on April 1 voted 7-1 to award Ajax Paving Industries of Florida LLC a bid for $2,372,261 to complete the Cape Coral Parkway East Six Lane Improvement Project. The project\u2019s components include resurfacing and restriping the pavement between Triton Court East and just west of Cape Coral Street\/SE 15th Avenue, removing an existing median to construct a longer turn lane, rewiring traffic signals at eight intersections between Del Prado and Chiquita, replacement of curbs and paver sidewalks along newly expanded travel lanes, new signage and other improvements.<\/p>\n
