Irate Miami diners have been sounding off about rising costs \u2014 from $20 cocktails to automatic service charges \u2014 for quite a while. Now we\u2019re hearing about another frustration: restaurants passing along credit card processing fees directly to customers. That means if you want to use a credit card, you\u2019re paying more.<\/p>\n
In an increasingly cash-free economy, punishing customers for using a credit card or Apple Pay is unpopular. As we\u2019ve reported, many locals already feel priced out of dining in South Florida. With gas prices, rents, groceries and everyday expenses climbing, even a casual night out can upset a budget, and a surprise fee at the end of the meal can ruin the experience.<\/p>\n
