The Condominium Associations of Sanibel Island (CASI) recently hosted its annual \u201cState of the City\u201d Breakfast at the Sundial Beach Resort & Spa on Sanibel, bringing condominium association leaders together for an energetic, information-rich conversation with the island\u2019s leadership team.<\/p>\n

Sanibel City Manager Dana Souza was joined by a panel of city representatives, including Deputy City Manager and Chief Financial Officer Steve Chaipel, Police Chief William Dalton, Sanibel Recreation Center Marketing & Events Coordinator Denise Dillon, Planning Director Paula McMichael, Natural Resources Director Holly Milbrandt, Public Works Director Fred Mittl, and Building Director and Chief Building Official Craig Mole\u2019.<\/p>\n

Dignitaries in attendance included Mayor Mike Miller, with his wife, Mary.<\/p>\n

Souza and his team were engaged, candid and responsive. They took questions from attendees and provided clear, practical insights to help associations plan ahead and move projects forward.<\/p>\n

A standout moment came when Souza spoke of the \u201cLove Sanibel Back\u201d campaign and heart behind it: Sanibel needs love right now. While recovery since Hurricane Ian has been strong, the road has been difficult \u2014 especially in areas still working through recovery after additional impacts from Helene and Milton. CASI reported that the message was honest and hopeful: progress is real, resilience is strong, and continued community support matters.<\/p>\n
