JACKSONVILLE \u2013\u00a0Families in Northeast Florida can explore hands-on learning opportunities in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence,\u00a0esports\u00a0and drone technology at a\u00a0community event\u00a0hosted by Charter Schools USA\u00a0(CSUSA)<\/a>\u00a0and the Jacksonville Icemen.\u00a0<\/p>\n The event will be on\u00a0Saturday, April 11, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., at\u00a03605 Philips Highway. It is free and\u00a0open to the public.\u00a0<\/p>\n Attendees will have the opportunity to\u00a0participate\u00a0in interactive stations highlighting programs offered at CSUSA schools across\u00a0Clay,\u00a0Duval<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0St. Johns<\/a>\u00a0counties.\u00a0<\/p>\n Activities will include demonstrations featuring drones, aquaponics, and esports, along with family-friendly attractions such as bounce houses, face painting, food, and ice skating.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re seeing increased interest from families in programs that connect classroom learning to real-world skills,\u201d said Eric Schill, director of school support for CSUSA. \u201cThis event is designed to give parents and students a chance to experience those opportunities firsthand.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n Esports\u00a0continue\u00a0to grow at both the K\u201312 and collegiate levels.
