Everglazed Donuts & Cold Brew has announced a free limited-edition donut through Sunday in honor of the upcoming NHL \u2018Inside Out\u2019 Classic.<\/p>\n

ESPN,\u00a0Disney,\u00a0Pixar, and the National Hockey League (NHL) are teaming up to bring\u00a0fans\u00a0Inside Out Classic,\u202fa\u00a0real-time, animated NHL telecast featuring the\u00a0Washington Capitals vs. New York Rangers\u00a0on\u00a0Sunday,\u00a0April 5 at 7\u00a0p.m. ET.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The donut is limited to one per guest while supplies last. There is no purchase necessary, and this will be available to all guests.<\/p>\n

Inside\u00a0Out\u00a0Classic\"Inside\u00a0Out<\/a><\/p>\n

ESPN+,\u00a0Disney+,\u00a0Disney Channel,\u00a0and\u00a0Disney XD will present the\u00a0real-time, animated telecast, while the traditional telecast will be available on\u00a0ESPN.\u202fIn 2023, the\u00a0\u201cNHL Big City Greens Classic\u201d featured\u00a0the Capitals vs. Rangers\u00a0and\u00a0was the first-of-its-kind\u00a0real-time\u00a0volumetric animation presentation\u00a0in sports.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inside Out Classic\u00a0will feature virtually created real-time animation of the action between the Washington Capitals and the New York Rangers, modeled after characters on Pixar\u2019s\u00a0Inside Out.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The\u00a0animated telecast\u00a0will\u00a0use\u00a0tracking technology to\u00a0present\u00a0the action on the ice\u00a0in real-time\u00a0while featuring\u00a0Inside Out\u00a0characters skating alongside animated versions of the NHL players. Highlights for this year\u2019s animated telecast:\u00a0<\/p>\n

The presentation will blend two types of tracking technologies \u2013\u00a0NHL EDGE\u00a0positional data (NHL Puck and Player\u00a0Tracking) and\u00a0Sony\u2019s\u00a0Hawk-Eye Innovations\u2019\u00a0optical tracking \u2013 to create\u00a0more dynamic player and character movement to help fans better visualize detailed limb and stick movement and mannerisms.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inside the mind of\u00a0Inside Out\u00a0character Riley, Hockey Island will host the animated\u00a0presentation\u00a0where\u00a0Riley\u2019s Emotions\u00a0will skate alongside animated versions of\u00a0the\u00a0NHL players.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Using\u00a0Sony\u2019s\u00a0Beyond Sports\u2019 Virtual Commentator technology, the\u202fESPN commentators calling the action on the animated telecast \u2013\u202fDrew Carter, Kevin\u00a0Weekes\u00a0and Arda \u00d6cal \u2013\u202fwill wear virtual reality headsets for motion capture, immersing\u00a0them in the animated environment of Hockey Island in Riley\u2019s Mind.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inside Out\u00a0voice talent will also be featured in the\u00a0animated\u00a0presentation, including\u00a0Phyllis Smith (Sadness),\u00a0Lewis Black (Anger), Tony Hale (Fear), and\u00a0Maya Hawke\u00a0(Anxiety).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The real-time animated telecast\u00a0will be produced in association with ESPN Edge Innovation Center and NHL\u00a0partner,\u00a0Sony\u2019s\u00a0Beyond Sports.\u00a0Driven\u00a0by\u00a0Sony\u2019s Beyond Sports\u2019\u00a0proprietary virtual recreation technology,\u00a0the broadcast transforms\u00a0tracking data\u00a0from\u00a0fellow NHL partner Sony\u2019s Hawk-Eye Innovations\u00a0into animated action on the ice.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n

In 2025, ESPN and Sony\u2019s Beyond Sports\u202fexpanded its agreement<\/a>\u00a0to continue to produce alternate telecasts\u00a0utilizing\u00a0Disney\u2019s extensive portfolio of Intellectual Property to expand its audience. Along with Sony\u2019s Hawk-Eye Innovations and the use of\u00a0state-of-the-art\u00a0technology, ESPN has already produced multiple animated alternate telecasts under the new agreement.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Inside Out Classic\u00a0will be available internationally on Disney+ in\u00a0Latin America, the Caribbean, Australia and New Zealand, South Africa\u00a0(live, no replay), and\u00a0Europe.\u00a0Video on demand will also be available\u00a0in most markets, including the United\u00a0States and its territories,\u00a0on Disney+ shortly after the real-time telecast.\u00a0\u00a0Watch the announcement video here<\/a>.<\/p>\n
