{"id":218487,"date":"2026-04-04T09:17:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-04T09:17:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/218487\/"},"modified":"2026-04-04T09:17:11","modified_gmt":"2026-04-04T09:17:11","slug":"major-easter-egg-hunt-set-for-riverfront-plaza-saturday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/218487\/","title":{"rendered":"Major Easter egg hunt set for Riverfront Plaza Saturday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Easter egg hunt is another major holiday event at the Plaza that was converted into a green area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Easter egg hunt events are springing up in many cities as Floridians head into Easter weekend, and Jacksonville is no exception.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The city is hosting a major Easter egg hunt Saturday morning dubbed \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.gov\/welcome\/featured-news\/city-to-host-riverfront-palooza,-jacksonville%E2%80%99s-biggest-easter-egg-hunt,-april-4,-2026\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Riverfront Palooza<\/a>.\u201d The event is free and will feature age-specific events.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Easter egg hunts will hide up to 20,000 eggs being stashed around the <a href=\"https:\/\/dia.jacksonville.gov\/news\/jacksonville-debuts-first-phase-of-riverfront-plaza\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Riverfront Plaza<\/a>, located at 2 W. Independent Drive.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The events start at 10 a.m. for children ages 0-2, with another at 12 p.m. Kids aged 3-4 can participate at 10:20 a.m. and 12:20 p.m. Ages 5-7 get to hunt at 10:45 a.m. and 12:45 p.m. Events for ages 8-10 are scheduled for 11:10 a.m. and 1:10 p.m., with kids ages 11-12 hunting at 11:30 a.m. and 1:35 p.m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan is expected to appear at the Plaza at about 10 a.m. to kick off the events. She will also be present with her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jacksonville.gov\/mayor\/initiatives\/river-city-readers\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\">River City Readers Bookmobile<\/a>, an initiative Deegan has been promoting to enhance literacy in the city.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/rubinturnbull.com\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"external noopener noreferrer nofollow\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/us-fl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/rt_webad_728x90.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"728\" height=\"90\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-335063\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Parents are advised to bring Easter baskets for their children, though bags will be provided by the city if necessary. Parking will be available at downtown garages surrounding the event.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition to the Easter egg hunt, the city will feature entertainment including a live music DJ, arts and crafts stations, face painting along with food and dessert trucks. There will also be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny when he makes a stop along the north shore of the St. Johns River.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It\u2019s another major holiday event for the 6-acre Riverfront Plaza.
