SUWANNEE COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – A woman was pronounced dead at the scene of a crash Friday afternoon in Suwannee County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. <\/p>\n
The crash unfolded at the intersection of US 27 and US 129 at about 12:30 p.m., troopers report. <\/p>\n
A pickup driven by an 18-year-old with two teenage passengers was heading east on US 27 toward the US 129 intersection, officials say. Meanwhile, a sedan traveling north on CR 49, driven by a 49-year-old woman, was also approaching the intersection. <\/p>\n
The sedan began traveling through the intersection on a green light, and the pickup truck \u201cfailed to stop at the traffic control device,\u201d FHP troopers say.<\/p>\n
The pickup t-boned the sedan, causing the truck to overturn on its right side on the north shoulder of US 27, and the sedan came to a final rest on the same shoulder, troopers say.<\/p>\n
The 49-year-old driver of the Hyundai was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by EMS, according to an FHP press release. <\/p>\n
The driver of the pickup and his two passengers did not sustain any injuries, per Florida Highway Patrol. <\/p>\n
