Perhaps there may be sticker shock after first seeing the contract that Walker was signed to, but in today’s edge rusher market, that in part, is the cost of doing business. Contracts are also a projection of what a team believes a player can do, and Walker has progressed throughout his rookie deal.<\/p>\n
Walker has already made a big impact on the Jaguars’ defense, and as noted above, does so in ways that won’t always show up on the stat sheet. That’s valuable. Still just 25 years old and with the salary cap likely to continue increasing, this deal should age well.<\/p>\n
