Joshua Van will have to wait a little longer for his first official UFC flyweight title defense after getting removed from next weekend\u2019s fight with Tatsuro Taira. This is according to a recent report by MMA Fighting<\/a> as well as sources close to Mania.<\/p>\n

The two flyweights were expected to meet in the co-main event of UFC 327<\/a> one week from today in Miami, Fla., which has turned into one of the most stacked cards<\/a> of the year. Of course, Van\u2019s title fight with Taira is a big reason why the card was considered a must-watch. They are two of the most exciting flyweights in the game right now and would have certainly put on a show.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Van will need to withdraw from next weekend\u2019s title defense due to \u201cundisclosed reason\u201d with just seven days left on the clock. The full details of Van\u2019s untimely withdrawal remain unknown at this time and UFC officials have yet to confirm if Taira will stay on UFC 327\u2019s card or if the matchup will simply be re-booked for a later date.<\/p>\n

Van, 24, captured the UFC flyweight title back at UFC 323 when then champion Alexandre Pantoja suffered an arm injury<\/a> just 30 seconds into the fight and couldn\u2019t continue.
