HIALEAH, Fla. \u2014 Two barbers who were found dead inside of an apartment unit in Hialeah last week <\/a>had been shot to death, Hialeah police confirmed to Local 10 News on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Hialeah police Lt. Eddie Rodriguez said the police department had no other \u201cnew developments to share with the public.\u201d<\/p>\n

Police identified the victims last week as Kevin Ramirez, 18, and Cristian Rolando Contreras, 20.<\/p>\n

According to police, the victims\u2019 lifeless bodies were discovered around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at the Atlantico at Aquabella apartments, located at 11181 W. 35th Way.<\/p>\n

The victims\u2019 friend and fellow barber, Bryan Leon, told Local 10\u2019s Christina Vazquez that they both worked with him at Billionaire Barbershop in Hialeah.<\/p>\n

He said he and Contreras worked together for two years and Ramirez joined them just a month ago.<\/p>\n

According to Leon, the three became fast friends, recently traveling together to Cancun and they were supposed to head to Medellin, Colombia on vacation last Thursday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe one thing I want everyone to know about my friends is that they were good people, good-hearted, they cared about their family, their moms, the community, especially here,\u201d Leon said, pointing to Contreras\u2019 empty barber station. \u201cThe haircuts they give — it is not just haircuts. They give experience, they make everybody laugh, everybody loved them. We had a ceremony here, we had a lot of people and they were just hard-working kids. They did not deserve this.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cImagine your son or daughter being a young age, just working, trying to get to their dreams, and this happens. It sucks, it makes no sense.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Leon, the apartment where the victims\u2019 bodies were found in belonged to Ramirez.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to go there, just chill with them as well,\u201d Leon said. \u201cHe had his set up. It was a fire, fire apartment, especially at his age. He is only 18, he owned it, so it was pretty impressive. Cristian lived with his parents, he was 20 years old, but he was planning, literally, to buy an apartment with Kevin in August or September.\u201d<\/p>\n

Barber Andy Echazabal, who attended Contreras\u2019 funeral, recalled seeing the young man\u2019s parents overcome with emotion. <\/p>\n

\u201cI saw the family \u2014 his father and mother,\u201d he said. \u201cIt was very hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Echazabal said both Ramirez and Contreras were \u201cgood kids and really good people.\u201d <\/p>\n

Ramirez was laid to rest during a funeral service on Sunday, while Contreras was burial was on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

Anyone with information about the double shooting is asked to call the Hialeah Police Department at 305-687-2525. Anonymous tips can be made by calling Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.<\/p>\n

A motive for the shooting remains unclear at this time. <\/p>\n
