Florida<\/a> football hosted a handful of high school recruits this weekend, including four-star running back Andrew Beard.<\/p>\n

The 5-foot-9-inch, 195-pound ball carrier out of Bogart (Georgia) Prince Avenue Christian in the 2027 cycle had been on campus back in January for Junior Day and got another glimpse at what the Gators have to offer during the program’s spring practice. Apparently, the visit was a productive one for the high school junior.<\/p>\n

“I would say it helped out Florida, just traveling these couple spring practices, trying to visit a campus on a deeper level instead of just going to a game day,” Beard told Swamp247<\/a>. “So just seeing Florida this time around, actually getting to see a practice and how everybody moved around, definitely good.”<\/p>\n

As for whether or not he sees a fit for himself in the program, the blue-chip recruit offered a positive response.<\/p>\n

“I could definitely see myself in the running back room. Just the way that Coach Faulkner calls the offense and really lets the running backs be able to play in space.”<\/p>\n

Beard has already made stops with the Clemson Tigers<\/a> and Tennessee Volunteers<\/a> this spring and expects to visit the Georgia Bulldogs<\/a> as well, given that he lives just 11 miles from Athens. He has an official visit date with Florida set for June 4-6, as well as with Clemson (May 29-31), Georgia (June 12-14) and Tennessee (June 19-21).<\/p>\n

Andrew Beard’s recruiting summary<\/p>\n

Beard is ranked No. 151 overall and No. 8 at his position nationally according to the 247Sports composite<\/a>, while the Rivals industry ranking<\/a> has him at Nos. 150 and 6, respectively. The running back has offers from 34 schools, including seven other SEC programs, as well as the Florida State Seminoles<\/a> and Miami Hurricanes<\/p>\n

According to the Rivals recruiting prediction machine, Georgia leads the way in his recruitment with a 30.3% chance of signing him, followed by Clemson (19.0%), Tennessee (11.5%), Florida (8.3%) and the Oklahoma Sooners<\/a> (6.9%).<\/p>\n
