JACKSONVILLE, Fla. \u2013 Saturday was Hockey Is For Everyone night, with the Jacksonville Icemen<\/a> facing the Florida Everblades<\/a> for the final game of a three-game series in as many nights in Jacksonville. Jacksonville took a 2-1 overtime victory with the game-winning goal coming from Taos Jordan. However, the #1 Star of the game was Jacksonville\u2019s goaltender Michael Bullion, who made multiple incredible saves, blocking 41 of 42 shots.<\/p>\n

It was the Everblades who took the lead in the first period on a goal from Oliver Cooper at 13:51 of the first period, on a feed from Jett Jones. In the second period, down by one, Jacksonville\u2019s Trevor Griebel scored a goal that initially wasn\u2019t called at 1:47 into the period. A review by the officials showed that the wraparound goal had crossed the line but had slid back out from the underside of the net, going undetected. With the score tied at 1-1, Michael Bullion made multiple sprawling saves to keep Jacksonville in the game throughout the second and third period. Tied at the end of regulation, the game went to OT for the second game of the three-game series, with Taos Jordan scoring at 3:41 on the only shot on net in the extra period. Florida outshot Jacksonville 42 to 21 in the game.<\/p>\n

The win for Jacksonville still keeps them in contention for a playoff spot, but skill and luck will have to go their way in the final three games of the regular season. The one point for Florida meant they clinched the top spot in the South Division and home ice advantage in the playoffs. Jacksonville has a full week off to recoup before its next game against the Atlanta Gladiators<\/a> on Saturday. Florida plays its next game on Friday against the South Carolina Stingrays<\/a>.<\/p>\n
