Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade celebrated its 59th Annual Golf Classic in Memory of Charles \u201cBebe\u201d Rebozo on Mar. 10 at an all-new location, the Trump National Doral, to drive change, one swing at a time.<\/p>\n
The highly anticipated annual fundraising tournament brought together community leaders and golf enthusiasts for a day of friendly competition and purpose-driven play, all in support of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade\u2019s life-changing youth development programs.<\/p>\n
The event raised more than $280,000 that will support Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade\u2019s services and programs at its six clubs and sites combined, which provide educational after-school programs, tutoring and homework assistance, STEM, social skills, dance, arts and crafts, mentoring and summer and athletic programs for area youth who need them the most. These programs help children realize their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s Golf Classic also marked the official launch of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade\u2019s year-long 80th anniversary celebration. For eight decades, Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade has been committed to improving the lives of Miami-Dade area youth through mentorship, care and educational programs designed to prepare them to become productive and caring citizens in the community.<\/p>\n
The scramble-style tournament teed off with a shotgun start at noon, following a morning registration and driving range session. Some 120 players putted for a purpose \u2014 for fun or at a competitive level \u2014 while raising crucial funds for Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade.<\/p>\n
Biscayne Bay Brewing, the official beer sponsor of the tournament, was served all day throughout the course and during the banquet. Kombi Keg Miami poured Biscayne Bay Brewing\u2019s Marlins Lager draft beer.<\/p>\n
Players enjoyed water and soft drink refreshments provided by Coca-Cola Beverages South Florida, and on-the-go snacks and lunch on the green provided by Hooters of South Florida.<\/p>\n
Golfers had an array of Hooters\u2019 restaurant favorites, including its famous wings and boneless chicken wings, chicken sandwiches, hot dogs, Caesar salad, burgers and fries.<\/p>\n
Cocktails, generously provided by Campari Group, the official spirits sponsor, were mixed and served all day throughout the course and during the banquet and awards ceremony.<\/p>\n
Guests started their day with cafecitos provided by Caf\u00e9 La Llave and had a chance to win bottles of premium spirits, provided by Pantry Liquors, at the Bottle Bonanza Putting contest.<\/p>\n
As golfers made their way through the course, they had the opportunity to participate in various activities and additional fundraising contests at different holes. Famous Long Drive champion Bobby Bradley offered players a chance at a hole-in-two for prizes. On hole 10\/11, players could try their luck at winning prizes and strokes off their score card at the Hooters Dice Roll contest. Golfers could attempt to make a hole-in-one for a one-year lease of a Moke America electronic golf cart on Hole 6.<\/p>\n
The day wrapped up with an awards ceremony banquet dinner, complete with a live raffle featuring high-end prizes including golf aficionado items, restaurant packages, and luxury vacation experiences. Raffle prizes included a chance to win two tickets to the TPC Scottsdale Waste Management Phoenix Open 2027 Championship and an eight-day\/seven-night stay for a family of eight to 12 people in a private five-bedroomed\/five and a half bath home in Steamboat Springs, CO, during ski season.<\/p>\n

The Pacifico Foundation was the Double Eagle Sponsor, and Bluestreak\/CCU and DRRT were the Eagle Sponsors. Ocean Bank and LCL McDonald\u2019s were the Birdie Sponsors.
