A fire weather watch<\/a> is in effect for 12 Florida counties as drought conditions continue across the state.<\/p>\n

The watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening, with gusty winds and low humidity<\/a> expected for parts of the eastern Florida Panhandle.<\/p>\n

Portions of North Florida are under exceptional drought<\/a> conditions, while most of the state are under extreme drought conditions, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.<\/p>\n

A red flag watch has been issued for 12 Florida counties April 6, 2026.<\/p>\n

A fire weather watch has been issued for the following counties on Monday, April 6:<\/p>\n

The watch is in effect from Tuesday morning through Tuesday evening, with gusty winds and low humidity<\/a> expected for parts of the eastern Florida Panhandle.<\/p>\n

Winds<\/a> out of the northeast at 15 to 20 mph are expected, with gusts up to 30 mph possible. Humidity <\/a>is forecast to drop as low as 22 percent to 28 percent.<\/p>\n

What is a fire weather watch?<\/p>\n

A fire weather watch<\/a> means critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur, according to the National Weather Service.<\/p>\n

Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.<\/p>\n
