ST. PETERSBURG, FL \u2014 A 76-year-old Pinellas Park man died after he was thrown from his motorcycle in a Sunday afternoon single-vehicle crash on the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, Florida Highway Patrol said in a news release. <\/p>\n
The man was heading north over the bridge on Interstate 275 when he tried to avoid a collision with an unknown vehicle and lost control of his Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle near milepost 12 around 12:45 p.m.<\/p>\n
He drove into the shoulder and hit the bridge\u2019s guardrail, which redirected his motorcycle, FHP said. <\/p>\n
The rider came to a stop in the outside northbound lane and he was thrown from the motorcycle. <\/p>\n
He died at the scene, troopers said. <\/p>\n
The crash closed the bridge\u2019s northbound lanes until nearly 5:30 p.m.<\/p>\n
