The Brewers Association’s 2025 Year in Beer report said the craft beer phase took a step back last year. However, if you attend this year\u2019s 10th annual Temple Terrace Craft Brewfest you certainly would not think that\u2019s the case.<\/p>\n
Seventeen independent brewers, up from 11 last year, will have more than 100 brews for craft beer lovers to sample at Woodmont Park on Saturday, April 11. That includes brews distributed through J.J. Taylor and Pepin Distributing.<\/p>\n
More than 2,000 people from more than 70 ZIP codes attended last year\u2019s event.<\/p>\n
Andria Roscart, co-owner of Athenaeum Brew Lounge in Dade City, said she first attended the event on the home brew level before opening their lounge two years ago.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn some areas you are seeing a bit of a decrease, but it\u2019s not just about craft beer,\u201d Roscart said. \u201cNewer generations are not consuming alcohol at all. That\u2019s why we also offer seltzers and other products so people can still come out and enjoy the brewery setting.\u201d<\/p>\n
Speaking of the setting, Roscart said she and her two partners make it a point not to miss the Brewfest in Temple Terrace.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s always a well-run, organized event,\u201d she said. \u201cThey always sell out and it\u2019s a great time for them to raise money for their charities. We also love the venue. It\u2019s a beautiful area with lots of trees and lots of shade.\u201d<\/p>\n
This year\u2019s event, coined Cheers to 10 Years, will be run by the Temple Terrace Junior Women\u2019s Club. Treasurer Ann Atchison is taking over from Cheri Donahue, who previously ran Brewfest through the Temple Terrace Rotary Club and in recent years by the Chamber of Commerce.<\/p>\n
Atchison said this is the lead fundraiser for the Junior Women\u2019s Club.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur goal is to showcase the independent brewers, and the people who just enjoy brewing beer,\u201d Atchison said. \u201cWe also have someone who has brewed some Saki and ciders.\u201d<\/p>\n
All profits will go to charities throughout Temple Terrace and the surrounding area, including the STEM program at Lewis Elementary, the food pantry at Temple Terrace Elementary and programs at Riverhills Elementary.<\/p>\n
Part of the funds are going to King High junior wrestler Isabella McFarlane, who this season became the first female wrestler from Hillsborough County to win a state championship at the 2026 FHSAA State Championships in Kissimmee on March 6-7. McFarlane won gold in the 170-pound weight class.<\/p>\n
McFarlane is preparing for the U.S. Marine Corps Cadet and Junior Nationals this summer in Fargo, North Dakota, the largest wrestling tournament in the world.<\/p>\n
The King High wrestling team is also running all parking accommodations.<\/p>\n
The title sponsor is Rivard Buick GMC among the 13 local businesses sponsoring the event.<\/p>\n
A variety of food trucks will be on hand, as well as the Black Velvet Band, \u201ca traditional Irish drinking band\u201d that played at the event last year.<\/p>\n
In addition to Athenaeum, local brewers include Brandon Bootleggers, Bay Area Barley\u2019s Angels, Wiregrass Brewing, Hop State, THOT Brewing, Pinellas Urban Brewing, Deep Roots Brewing, Hoppy Rooster Brewing, Broken Beaver Brewing, I Make Pour Decisions, TLT, Nature\u2019s Niche Brewing Co., Procrastination Brewing, Banity Rooster Brewing, Rat Dog Brewing Company and Unrefined Brewing.<\/p>\n
Brewfest will be held rain or shine.<\/p>\n
