It will improve open spaces, improve drainage, and increase setbacks from the main building, and the views from the similar condominium buildings in the area will not be compromised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">Commissioners ultimately sided with staff, focusing on the variance criteria and compatibility with the surrounding area.<\/p>\n<p class=\"\" style=\"white-space:pre-wrap;\">\u201cAs a developer, you should look at what the rules are and apply those rules,\u201d said Commissioner Charles Flynt. \u201cThis isn\u2019t going to kill the city if it doesn\u2019t get a variance.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Dozens of nearby residents came out to voice their opinion during Wednesday\u2019s meeting.
