TALLAHASSEE\u00a0\u2013 The Florida State women’s tennis team (6-14, 2-8 ACC) earned a 4-2 victory over Syracuse (6-11, 2-8 ACC) on Sunday afternoon at the Scott Speicher Memorial Tennis Center.<\/p>\n
Florida State opened the match by sweeping all three doubles courts to secure the early point. Cade Cricchio<\/a> and Mary Boyce Deatherage<\/a> set the tone with a 6-3 win on Court 3, marking their 12th victory of the season and eighth in conference play.<\/p>\n Eva Shaw<\/a> and Laura Putz<\/a> clinched the doubles point on Court 1 with a 7-5 win, their second victory together this season, while Kristyna Lavickova<\/a> and Tina Li<\/a> completed the sweep with a 7-6(4) win on Court 2.<\/p>\n Syracuse responded with two early singles victories to take a 2-1 lead.<\/p>\n Lavickova battled to a 7-6(7) first-set win before cruising to a 6-1 second-set victory on Court 4 to even the match at 2-2.<\/p>\n After dropping the opening set, Li responded with a 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 win on Court 3 to give Florida State a 3-2 advantage.<\/p>\n For the second straight match, Cricchio delivered the clincher, securing a 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-0 victory on Court 5 to seal the Seminoles’ second consecutive ACC win.<\/p>\n Florida State closes out the regular season at home next weekend, hosting No. 24 Duke on Friday at 4 p.m. before celebrating Senior Day on Sunday against No. 5 North Carolina at noon.<\/p>\n Live stats and video will be available on Seminoles.com.<\/p>\n Match Results Singles Doubles
